In case you didn’t figure it out from the above photo… we’re headed to Vienna tomorrow.
It’s kind of sad to be leaving the Balkans after spending so much time here. For the most part, the places we visited were wonderful, not too touristy, full of great people and possessed of just the right amount of post-Soviet panache.
The last few days have been a particularly interesting whirlwind. We got caught in a ‘the sky is falling’ kind of thunderstorm in the underrated and slow loris-boasting Zagreb zoo, found a live shell in the ruins of a hotel in Sarajevo (the same hotel that was being squatted in by a Franco-Hungarian marionet collective putting on nightly puppet shows) and wandered the anachronistic streets of Split.
